Q: How to remove headliner in Pontiac G6 convertible?
I have a rattle above the headliner in my 2007 Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible and need to remove the headliner to find the rattle

A: im not sure, but i think its snapped on to the roof. i havent taken mine off. it just seems like it would be snapped on there. try looking at the sides. maybe give it a tug. but also check dome light. might need to pop it off. hopes this helps.

Q: How many types of 3.9 engines for Pontiac 06′ G6 GTP Convertible ?
I have a 06′ Pontiac G6 Convertible GTP, at 13,000 miles the engine broke down and towed to one of the near GM Dealer, they replaced the whole engine, but I feel the new engine has less power then the old one, so I toke it to a Dyno Shop to check the engine HP, it shown only put out 179 HP, on the spec. it show this engine has 227 HP. Is there any suggestion for me to get this problem solve.

A: That 227 was at the crank. Your engine now still has that, but when you dyno’d it, you were testing at the wheels. HP is ALWAYS less at the wheels. It has to go through the trans and all that which takes a good 40+ HP off. I’d put money on it that your engine is just fine.

Q: Would You Trade In An 06 Mustang for An 08′ Pontiac G6 Convertible?
I Have an 06 Black Ford Mustang With 20” Rims…I Am Ready 4 Something New & Interested In The Pontiac G6 Hardtop Convertible…Would You Trade A Mustang In On This or Keep The Mustang? If Not, Why?

A: NO!!! I had a Pontiac Sunfire several years ago (purchased new) and as soon as the warranty ran out it blew a head. Then about six months later it did it again. I got rid of that POS. Then I bought a Chrysler PT Cruiser and had the same problem. (and yes, I get regular oil changes and maintenance)

I have a 1998 Mercury Tracer with 153,000 miles on it and have had less problems with that car then either of the other 2.

Q: Is there a indash gps navigation system i can buy for my pontiac g6 convertible?
I have been looking for a in dash navigation system for my car that will work and give the same message that the one i have does. Not the one that flip out

A: pioneer.com

jbl.com

mtx.com

alpine.com

Q: Does the 2007 Pontiac G6 convertible come in that burnt orange color?
I’m going to purchase one at the end of May and i love the color and just wanted to know.

A: crimson red is the closest you can come to that color.it is like a fire orange, but pretty hot.that goes for the coupe, and sedan as well.sorry.

Q: Cars similar to Pontiac G6 GT Convertible?
I am looking at cars for when I turn 16, and I really like the Pontiac G6 GT Convertible. Are there any cars similar to this in body style? I prefer that the area around the transmission looks a little on the sleek side, and I want a convertible. It needs to have a back seat and have pretty good mileage. I’m looking for something used, so the car shouldn’t be too new. I need it to be around 2005-2007. I would really appreciate if you could show me some links to used cars similar to the G6!

A: I don’t want to be close to Justin Bieber.
Sorry for wasting your time

Q: What is the name of the song and the band who performs it in the Pontiac G6 convertible commercial?
This is the commercial where the white and black convertible cars appear to be reflecting each other.

A: Secret For A Song By Mercury Rev. To see the commercial go to pontac.com then click on Pontiac Garage and click on the Pontiac Music and Video Slider and there u have it!

Q: Pontiac G6 Convertible?
Has anyone bought a Pontiac G6 Convertible?? I am really interrested in the car but I want to know from the people that have bought one what they like and don’t like about the car. Also I want to know about negotiating, I am keeping my current car so this would be a second car. If you don’t mind answering – How much did you put down and how much are your monthly payments, how many months? What was your final purchase price?

A: I personally do not own a G6 Conver. but I would love to have one. I work at a GM dealership where we sell G6 convertibles.

The only things I do not like about them is that it can only seat 4, not 5 like most coupes/sedans. Also, the fact that you must wait 30 minutes in between top movements stinks. If you put the top down, drive out on the highway then it starts to rain or it gets too cold right away, you have to wait 30 minutes to move the top back up or it will put a lot of strain on the top’s motor.

Otherwise, it is a great car at a great price. You get a lot of performance, unlike it’s competators. The hard top makes me feel more secure than a rag top like the Solaras that we also sell.

Price, payments, etc, all depend upon your credit, amount of cash down, and where you live (rebates and interest rates vary upon location).

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Q: how much will a 2007 Pontiac G6 convertible be worth in 2009?
it has good milage on it

A: A good rule of thumb is that a 3yr old car is worth 1/2 of a new one. This is pretty general.

Ask what the buyout would be if you were to lease one until then. The people who make this their business will have it figured out pretty close.

Q: what is your monthly car payment on a 08 pontiac g6 convertible?
g6 convertible lees mounthly pay

A: Nothing sense I don’t have one. Pay cash for my cars anyhow.

Q: Is a 2006 Pontiac G6 Convertible USED car with 90,000 mileage a good buy?
$11,550 is the asking price

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: What car should I choose a 2004 black nissan 350z convertible a 2007 Pontiac g6 gt hardtop convertible?
Which one goes faster and looks better and the Pontiac is white
My parents are giving me a choice between those cars and dey already know how much they going to spend and dads a mechanic

A: well both cars are crap but pontiac is out of bizz so that makes parts more $$$$$

Q: I’m considering buying a rebuilt 2007 Pontiac G6 Hardtop convertible… What is a good price to buy it for?
It’s really nice… leather seats, V6 3.5 liter engine, less that 15k miles, all that kind of stuff. The only thing I see is that the hardtop have trouble staying down sometimes. Thank you in advanced for any answers that you give me.

A: No more than 60% of good retail value.
Sounds like ti needs work if top will not stay down.
Could get expensive.

Q: Lexus SC 430 or Pontiac G6 Convertible?
I can’t decide…they’re both nice.

A: If price isnt an option, then get the lexus. But the G6 is half the price.

Q: Does anyone know how much a Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible is?

A: The 2006 GP models have a bottom MSRP of $26,332, with the GTP models asking $27,750. The 2007 models start at $26,933.

Q: Will you help me find a Pontiac G6 GT Convertible?!!!?
I am looking for a 2009 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible. I want it in black with either black or tan leather interior. An ‘07 or ‘08 will do as well. I need it used in the price range of 15,000-22,000 with preferably less than 25,000 miles on it. I want it in BLACK!!! Which is hard for me to find in the moment with what I’m asking. There are a lot of used ones in white with lower mileage and a good price, but none in black.
Please Help!

A: I’ve been doing a lot of research on used/pre-owned cars lately – trying to find the best ride for me. What I do is place a search for dealerships in cities near me in Google and Google maps gives me a list of them and I go throught the dearlers’ inventory to find the best results. You should try that, but and place Pontiac in the search engine. You should find some good results. Good Luck!

Q: are Pontiac g6 convertibles good cars? is this a sport car?
i would also like to know do these cars break down a lot? would it last me a while? are they expensive to fix? are they fast? i heard the g6`s were best of Pontiac. oh and how much do they range in price for a new and used one?

A: Though Pontiac is leaving our lineup they have left many quality vehicles for you to purchase. The G6 is a wonderful vehicle in my biased opinion. The 2009 Pontiac G6 Convertible gets the 3.5L V6 engine standard. It also comes with hydraulic power steering standard. It also comes with 18 flangeless machine faced aluminum wheels. Also it has dual-stage frontal and side-impact air bags, with driver and right-front passenger Passenger Sensing System which is standard in the Convertible. There is also the radio which is AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback, seek-and-scan, digital clock, auto-tone control, Radio Data System (RDS), automatic volume, TheftLock, auxiliary input jack, USB port and 36 cross-band presets which is again standard on this vehicle. The radio above is paired with the Monsoon high-performance 8-speaker system with high-mounted tweeters and subwoofer in the Convertible. The Convertible also gets our Bluetooth for phone system with our HMI system (Human Machine Interface). It also comes standard with Remote Keyless Entry and Remote Vehicle Start. You also get the 3 months of XM and 1 full year of OnStar. Both are standard. I hope this information helps you!

Q: Help! I just bought a new G6 Convertible, got 0% interest and now they are saying can’t do 0%, bring it back.
I purchased this G6 Convertible under the terms of 0% interest last Tuesday. Today I received a phone call from the finance manager saying I need to bring the car and back redo paperwork because they cannot do 0%. I think the reason is.. Pontiac is offering 0% interest this week on there cars. Well in the fine print on the website it states the G6 convertible and Solstice are not included in this deal, and they just caught their mistake. I have to drive 200 miles to return the car and look at the financing they are proposing. I asked if I could just have my car back (03 Accord) and they said *probably*. The paperwork says if they do not meet the finance terms the contract is null and void. When I return the car it will have 1000 miles on it and be ranked as Used (in my opinion). So does anyone have any bargaining ideas for me or ever dealt with this situation before? I really like the car and would like to keep it but not for alot more money.

A: You probably should contact an attorney. The dealer has some liability in this matter, and a week is a little long to find this out.

Alternately you can use Capital One on-line and get a great rate (if you qualify) and use the rebate to pay down the purchase amount if there is a rebate. But if you go in looking desperate to keep the car, they will win and sock you with a higher than necessary rate because you let your emotions rule over your head. Keep things in prospective!

Q: HELP, with convertibles!?
Ok so my dream cars are the Volkswagen eos and the pontiac g6 convertible.

http://www.vw.com/eos/en/us/

http://www.pontiac.com/g6-convertible-2009/

i plan on getting a used car or leasing which ever is a better deal but my problem is i can’t seem to find anything cheap enough with either of these cars. so does anyone know of any cars like this

it needs to have 4 seats and come in auto, not only stick shift.

and i really want a hard-top convertible but if i find something great that’s not hard top that would be ok.

some others i found..

http://www.chrysler.com/en/2009/sebring_convertible/
(this ones prob my favorite after the eos and g6)

http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/spyder/09/index.do?loc=en-us

i feel like there must be more cars out there just like these i don’t know of so if you know of any PLEASE inform me. if you have any info or estimates at best prices ill find these cars for and which one i will get the best deal on, anything! Thank You!!!

A: the only good car out of all these is the volkswagen eos. it has the excellent 2.0 liter turbo engine found in the golf gti. it handles really well, and is the only car that truly perfects the folding metal roof. by which i mean the windshield is the same size as normal, and the roof is normally sized. there’s little wind noise when the roof is up, and it looks nice too.

the pontiac and the chrysler are terrible cars. in fact, jeremy clarkson said that the sebring convertible was the 2nd worst car of 2008, with the first being the kia sedona. the pontiac is pretty poor too.

the mitsubishi isn’t nearly as good as the eos, but far better than the pontiac/chrysler.

so, if you’re going to get a convertible get the eos. it combines the looks and handling of a european sports car with the reliability and practicality of a european car, and is the only car to perfect the folding-metal roof.

Q: which is the better engine–the 3.5 or the 3.9? Do u use regular gas in the 3.9?
I am thinking about buying a G6 Pontiac convertible and I don’t know what engine to buy. The 3.5 or the 3.9. Does anyone know about the gas mileage and can u use regular gas in the 3.9?

A: You can use regular gas in any car. Even if it specifies 92 octane gas. Just dont abuse the engine and you should be ok. As for which engine, go to their website and compare MPG and HP ratings. Then decide which suites your driving style, more power or more MPG.

Q: Should I get a convertible?
I love cars, especially sports cars. I use to own a G35 coupe, and currently a TL….selling the TL come Spring. I had a Mustang convertible for a week, and although I hate the Mustand, I certainly liked the convertible aspect of it. However, even with the G35 coupe, sometimes I liked the attention, other times…not so much.

I live in Toronto, so it does snow here, a convertible is not the most practical thing, but I am 25, not married, and dont’ have kids. Do you think I should get a convertible? If so, what kind? I was looking at…

BMW Z4
Mercedes CLK 350

and also the hardtops….

Lexus SC430
Mercedes SLK
Pontiac G6 (yeah the Pontiac seems odd, but what other hardtops are there?)

A: do it.

Q: Pick the car I am going to buy!?
About to buy a car, recent university grad, been working hard, time to get a car. What car would you pick? What car is most sexy?

G35 coupe, IS250, G6 convertible, 335 ci or used M3, or other (has to be under $45k)
I am just asking because it’s my first car; and I’ll probably be driving it for 3 or 4 years so I want to hear opinions. I don’t want to be the guy driving a VW bettle with a flower holder in it.
Also it has to be a daily car, so that rules out the Elise, and I can’t get the Elise anyways, import restrictions to Canada. I’ve looked, it’s a hot car.

A: IS350 or 335 CI, with a favor leaning toward the 350 since it’s a sedan, and you’ll be happier, longer with a sedan. 3 years is a LONG time to be driving a coupe or convertible everyday!

Consider leasing it. You have a clean auto history right now. Don’t cloud your car purchasing abilities by getting upside down in a vehicle and seeing your payment increase the next time you trade. By leasing, you can be free and clear in 2 or 3 years when the lease completes. Just as long as you don’t put excessive miles on the vehicle.

Both these cars have high resale values, and high residuals for leasing. So, there may be a very attractive lease option out there on either of these vehicles.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

A: do it.

Q: Buying my first car…some help?
I’ve finished paying off my student loans, have some money saved up, time to get a car, but problem is what car to get? I’ve been driving a 99 Civic for two years, and now I can get ride of it, and buy my first car!

I wanted to know people opinion on what cars I should look at. I’ve asked before and gotten some nice responses.
It has to look nice, have some luxeries, I might take it to the track occasionally, so had to have some power…..and now the kicker, it has to be an everday car because I am from Toronto and it snows here sometimes, so that means no soft top convertibles. Has to be under $35k, and I prefer used over new

some cars I’ve been looking at…

‘03 G35 coupe
‘01 M3
‘07 G6
‘03 325ci or 330 ci
‘04 TL
‘05 TSX
‘06 IS250

Thanks for answering

A: Financial analysts will say this (saw a show once on this, and have personally used this technique).
1. Buy a used car that is approximately 2 years old with mileage still under factory warranty.
2. Use an appraisal service such as Edmunds.com or Blue Book to see the range the car should cost, and try to get as close to the “Trade In” value on your price negotiation, as you should not pay full retail.

As a result, you get much more miles/dollar spent for the life of the car, compared to buying a brand new or older vehicle.
